Understanding your score

Every check on your dashboard shows one of four statuses. Checks awaiting your input don't count toward your score yet, so an unanswered question can't masquerade as a pass or a failure.

Frequently asked questions

The Basics

How is my Security Score calculated?

Each individual check contributes a value from 0–100 based on its status (Secure checks score 100, Needs Attention scores partial credit, At Risk scores 0). Your overall score is the average across every check that has an answer. Checks still marked Review Needed are left out of the average entirely until you confirm them, so they can't quietly drag your score down — or up.

Why do some checks ask me a yes/no question instead of just checking automatically?

iOS deliberately doesn't let any app — including Extractify Intel — read certain settings, like whether Find My or Lockdown Mode is turned on, or which configuration profiles are installed. That's a privacy protection built into the platform, not a limitation we'd remove if we could.

For those checks, Extractify Intel sends you straight to the right screen in Settings and asks you to confirm what you see there. It's one extra tap, in exchange for the same sandboxing that keeps other apps from reading your settings either.

Can Extractify Intel detect every jailbreak or piece of spyware?

No — and we'd rather tell you that plainly than let the app oversell itself. The Forensic Scan checks for filesystem and library artifacts commonly left behind by jailbreak tools, but a sophisticated jailbreak or targeted spyware is specifically built to hide from exactly these kinds of checks.

That's why the Forensic Scan also includes a short behavioral questionnaire — things like sudden battery drain or overheating are sometimes the only visible sign, and they're something only you can notice. If your answers point somewhere concerning, Extractify Intel will tell you and suggest contacting a real digital-security resource, rather than pretending to give you a diagnosis.

Privacy & Data

Does Extractify Intel send any of my data anywhere?

No. Extractify Intel makes no network requests of any kind. There's no account, no analytics, and no server. Every check happens on your device and stays there. See the full Privacy Policy for specifics.

How do I reset my saved answers?

Your self-reported answers (like your Find My or Auto-Lock confirmation) are stored only on your device. To clear them, delete and reinstall Extractify Intel from the App Store, or go to Settings → Extractify Intel → Offload/Reset if your iOS version offers per-app reset. There's no account to reset anything from remotely.

Why does Extractify Intel ask for Face ID permission?

Purely to ask iOS a yes/no question — "is Face ID or Touch ID enrolled on this device?" — for the Passcode & Biometrics check. Extractify Intel never actually triggers a Face ID prompt and never receives any biometric data.

Troubleshooting

Every check says "Review Needed" — is something broken?

That's expected the first time you open the app — Extractify Intel hasn't asked you anything yet. Tap into each category and answer the short prompts; your score will fill in as you go. Nothing is broken.

My score didn't update after I changed a Settings toggle.

Since iOS doesn't let Extractify Intel read those settings directly, your answer only updates when you tell it to. After changing something in Settings, come back and tap Rescan Device, then re-confirm the relevant check.

Still stuck?

Send us the specifics — your iOS version and what you expected to happen — and we'll get back to you.
