How do I bring a game into ChessIQ AI?
Open the Games tab and pick a source: enter a
Lichess or Chess.com username to pull your
most recent games, or switch to Paste PGN and drop in the
game text directly. Tap a game in the list to open it for review.
Does my data ever leave my device?
No. ChessIQ AI doesn't have a server of its own. Fetching games talks
directly to Lichess's or Chess.com's public API from your phone, and every
move is then analyzed by a chess engine running locally on your device —
your games and your analysis never get uploaded anywhere.
What do the move labels mean?
Each move is scored against the engine's own best line and classified by how
much advantage it cost:
Book
Best
Excellent
Good
Inaccuracy
Mistake
Blunder
What's the vertical bar next to the board?
That's the evaluation bar. It fills from the bottom up to
show White's estimated chance of winning the current position — a quick read
on which way, and how far, the game has swung.
How does the spoken narration work?
When it's on, ChessIQ AI reads each move aloud as you step through the game —
naming the move played, calling out blunders, and suggesting the stronger
alternative — then closes with a short spoken summary. Turn it off, pick a
voice, and adjust the speech rate under
Settings → Narration.
Analysis is taking a while — can I speed it up?
Yes. Settings → Analysis → Search depth controls how deeply
the engine searches each position, from 8 to 20.
Lower depth analyzes a game faster; higher depth takes longer but reads
further ahead.
Where does the accuracy score come from?
After a game finishes analyzing, each side gets an accuracy percentage
summarizing how closely their moves tracked the engine's own choices across
the whole game — one number for how the game went, in addition to the
move-by-move labels.
Something's wrong, or I have an idea for the app.
Good — that's exactly what the contact address below is for. Include the
device you're on and, if it's about a specific game, the username or PGN
that produced it.
