Companion Matched ยท Last updated August 10, 2026
This page explains what information Companion Matched collects, why, who it's shared with, and the choices you have. We wrote it to actually describe what the app does โ not boilerplate.
Your email address and password (if you sign in with email), or the name and email Apple chooses to share when you use Sign in with Apple. Your password is handled entirely by our authentication provider (Supabase) โ we never see or store it in plain text.
What you add during setup and any time after: display name, username, birthdate, bio, profile photo, and the interests you select. Gender is optional.
Who you like or pass on, your matches, and the messages you send in chat. Messages are only ever visible to the two people in a match.
If you allow notifications, we store a device push token (via Apple Push Notification service) so we can notify you about new matches and messages.
๐ No location data ๐ฑ No phone number ๐ฏ No ad tracking or advertising IDs ๐งฉ No third-party analytics or ad SDKs
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell it to anyone.
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Supabase | Our backend provider โ hosts the database, authentication, file storage, and realtime messaging that run the app. They process data on our behalf and don't use it for their own purposes. |
| Apple | Powers Sign in with Apple and delivers push notifications (APNs). Apple's handling of this data is governed by Apple's own privacy policy. |
| Email delivery provider | Sends account emails (sign-up confirmation, password resets) on our behalf. |
We don't share your information with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for marketing purposes.
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below โ we'll remove your profile, matches, and messages.
Companion Matched is intended for users 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.
Your data is protected by database-level Row Level Security โ meaning access rules are enforced by the database itself, not just the app. Profile photos are stored so only you can write to your own folder, and chat messages are only readable by the two people in that match.
If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
