ChessIQ AI is built to run entirely on your device. This policy explains, plainly, what that means for your data — because the short version is: there isn't much to explain.

Nothing. ChessIQ AI has no account system, no backend server, and no way for us to receive your games, your analysis, or any information about you. Everything the app works with falls into one of three places, and all three stay on your device:
UserDefaults).
Game analysis runs on a chess engine bundled inside the app, executing
on your device's own processor — a position is never sent anywhere to
be evaluated. Spoken narration works the same way, using iOS's
built-in text-to-speech (AVSpeechSynthesizer) to read
moves aloud locally. Neither feature makes a network request or talks
to any third-party service.
ChessIQ AI makes network requests in exactly one situation: when you choose to import games by entering a Lichess or Chess.com username. That request goes directly from your device to that service's own public API — never through a server of ours, because we don't operate one.
Pasting a PGN directly, instead of importing by username, makes no network request at all.
ChessIQ AI doesn't include any analytics SDK, crash reporter, ad network, or tracking library of any kind. We have no way to see how you use the app, and no interest in building one.
Because everything lives only on your device, deleting the app deletes everything with it — your imported games, your analysis, and your settings. There's no account to close and no server-side copy to ask us to remove, since none exists. If your device backs up to iCloud or your computer, that locally stored data may be included in those backups the same way any other app's data is — subject to your own iOS and iCloud backup settings, not anything ChessIQ AI controls.
ChessIQ AI is intended for a general audience and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children — since it does not collect personal information from anyone at all.
If ChessIQ AI's data practices ever change — for example, if a future version adds an optional cloud feature — this page will be updated first, and the "last updated" date at the top will change to match.
