Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information BarkPark collects, how it's used, and the choices you have. We built BarkPark to help you find dogs to play with, not to collect more data than that requires.
Information we collect
To run check-ins and show who's at a park, BarkPark collects:
- Dog profile info — your dog's name, breed, and photo, if you choose to add one.
- Check-in activity — which park you check into and when, so nearby users can see current activity.
- Approximate location — used only to show nearby parks and to confirm you're checking into a real location. We don't track or store continuous location in the background.
- Device and usage data — basic diagnostic info (device type, app version, crash logs) to help us fix bugs.
How we use this information
- To show live dog counts and check-in status at parks near you.
- To let you build a profile for your dog that other users can see.
- To maintain, secure, and improve the app.
- To respond to support requests you send us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data to serve third-party ads.
What other users can see
When you check in, other users at the same park can see your dog's name, photo, and that you're currently checked in there. Your exact location, movements, and contact information are never shared with other users.
Data sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the app (such as cloud hosting and crash reporting), and only to the extent needed for them to perform that service. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention
Check-in history is retained to power your activity history within the app. You can delete individual check-ins or your entire account at any time by contacting us.
Your choices
- Location access can be turned off in your device settings at any time. BarkPark will still work, but you'll need to search for parks manually.
- Account and data deletion — email us and we'll permanently remove your account, dog profile, and check-in history.
- Corrections — you can edit your profile and dog info directly in the app at any time.
Children's privacy
BarkPark is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
